Millennium Products firm toasting success again

Teletubbies founder wins another prestigious award

Thursday 29 April 1999

Millennium Products company Ragdoll productions was today congratulated by the Design Council after its founder, Anne Wood, won the Veuve Clicquot Businesswoman of the Year Award.

Teletubbies was last week announced as one of the latest Millennium Products selected by the Design Council, which puts it among 634 ground-breaking British innovations with a chance to star in the Dome.

Design Council chief executive Andrew Summers said: ‘I am absolutely delighted that the success of Anne Wood and her company, Ragdoll Productions, has been recognised in this way.

‘Some have seen fit to knock Teletubbies and our selection of it for representation in the Dome, but this latest award vindicates our judgement. Teletubbies, its founder and Ragdoll productions represent all that is best in British business - they are innovative, creative, and highly successful all over the world. That is why we selected Teletubbies for Millennium Products.’
