Prime Minister Tony Blair will be announcing the fifth and final tranche of Millennium Products and making a keynote speech at 10am on Tuesday 14 December, 1999.
The event is to be held at a highly prestigious London venue which, for security reasons, we are not yet able to reveal. Special travel arrangements will be provided for both guests and the media. Further details will be issued nearer the time.
Representatives from every Millennium Product company are being invited to the event, at which there will be an exhibition of selected products for filming/photographing. Broadcast, interview and other media facilities will also be made available at the event venue.
VNR material will be made available to broadcasters on the day, and press picture desks will be able to download product images from the Media Resources section of our website (see below) from 10 am on 14 December.
The Design Council’s Millennium Products initiative was launched by Prime Minister Tony Blair in September 1997 with the aim of identifying, encouraging and promoting the most innovative British products and services from the last five years of this millennium.
