Design education

In a 1997 survey by Opinion Leader Research (OLR), commissioned by the Design Council, 86% of respondents from schools - and 74% of respondents from further and higher education - said that design is an important part of the curriculum.

70% of schools respondents said that the role of design had changed in their school over the past two years.

92% of education respondents believe that design provides skills for employment, but only 37% believe that design graduates could expect to find employment in design.
