Marketing Force
At the fourth Business Network event, four leading innovators discussed the importance of marketing to their business success. The event took place in Glasgow where journalist and cultural critic Pat Kane were in conversation with Ivor Tiefenbrun CEO of Linn Products, Bill McKeag, chairman of Xantak Chemicals and Fiona Riddoch of Calluna Technology.

A night on
the Tyne
Newcastle was the location for the latest Sharing Innovation Business Network
dinner. Members explored the impact of the Internet on the way we do business
and heard how small-to-medium sized enterprises can dip their toes in the
murky waters of e-commerce - it’s not that hard to fathom, after all.

A matter of
degrees?
A cold night in Cambridge,
but still the network worked. Over a hundred representatives of millennium
product status companies came to hear how they must export, or die. Chairman,
Charles Malcolm-Brown, explained the new export perspective, Tim Cole
brought software and song, and Adrian Llewellyn-Jones entertained with
stories of the continuing blindness of some of our largest retailers.

What Next? where
to find new product ideas
Inventor Trevor Baylis
wound up the audience, Steve Thompson from BMW changed gear, and 94 innovators
discussed the future - their future, Britain's - at the first Event of
the Sharing Innovation Business Network held on November 22 in Birmingham.
Organised by the Design Council through its Sharing Innovation project,
the Event saw representatives of the Teletubbies sit down with Rolls Royce,
London Taxis pick up a fare from a fisherman saved by a brand-new, self-inflating
life jacket; it saw debate. It heard mesmeric speeches.
