Maintaining a competitive edge has become increasingly difficult
for almost all businesses, and forecasters predict that in the
future the pace of change will increase. A radically altered world
lies ahead. The next generation of children needs to prepare for
a life of flexible working, re-skilling and short term contracts.
Seen positively, this is a world of opportunity where everything
is possible, but approached unprepared it is stressful and alienating.
At the Design Council we have been building bridges between businesses
and universities, colleges and schools to better prepare todayís
students and school children for this future.
