BS 7000-1:1999,
Design management systems - Part 1: Guide to managing innovation.
This British Standard provides guidance to those who seek to boost
the innovative performance of their enterprises. It promotes the
importance of driving innovation from the very top and introducing
innovation in all aspects of operations (products, services, business
processes and facilities), at all levels and in all departments.
It also stresses the importance of longer planning horizons --
two to three generations forward from what is currently on the
market.
Owner-managers,
executives and principals will find the common language and framework
to adopt -- at organizational and project levels -- in order to
specify the 'Innovation Highway' they need to traverse to create
the future today. Guidance will also help to pool resources, skills
and experience in innovative alliances and bring them on stream
quickly. Two self-assessment questionnaires help readers to start applying
the guidance provided. |

they created their innovative product, what sort of problems they
encountered on the road from concept to market place via design
and manufacture, and how they solved those problems. See the results
