Design Council launches new project to develop 'stunning' website

Leading internet consultancy, IconMedialab, to undertake major re-design

15 January 2001

The Design Council has appointed IconMedialab, a leading integrated e-business and internet consultancy, to help re-develop its e-strategy and re-design its website. IconMedialab, which has operations throughout Europe, the US and Asia, is to begin working on the project immediately.

Andrew Summers, Chief Executive of the Design Council said:'The appointment of IconMedialab is part of our plan to improve the way the Design Council uses and shares its knowledge. It reflects our determination to work in ever more intelligent and effective ways. Our website will be at the heart of our activities in the future. We intend to develop a site which is both stunning to look at and stunning to use.'

The first phase of the newly re-designed website will be launched in summer 2001, and further developments will take place on a long-term, ongoing basis. The aim is to develop the site into a pioneering, world-leading resource on design, targeted at design decision makers in business, education and government.

Commenting on the project for IconMedialab, Engagement Director Thomas Burke said:'Visionary and strategic use of the web will help the Design Council grow further its vital role in the business of design. We are delighted to be their chosen partner.'
