Design
Council launches new project to develop 'stunning' website
Leading
internet consultancy, IconMedialab, to undertake major re-design

The
Design Council has appointed IconMedialab, a leading integrated
e-business and internet consultancy, to help re-develop
its e-strategy and re-design its website. IconMedialab,
which has operations throughout Europe, the US and Asia,
is to begin working on the project immediately.
Andrew
Summers, Chief Executive of the Design Council said:'The
appointment of IconMedialab is part of our plan to improve
the way the Design Council uses and shares its knowledge.
It reflects our determination to work in ever more intelligent
and effective ways.Our website will be at the heart of our
activities in the future. We intend to develop a site which
is both stunning to look at and stunning to use.'
The
first phase of the newly re-designed website will be launched
in summer 2001, and further developments will take place
on a long-term, ongoing basis. The aim is to develop the
site into a pioneering, world-leading resource on design,
targeted at design decision makers in business, education
and government.
Commenting
on the project for IconMedialab, Engagement Director Thomas
Burke said:'Visionary and strategic use of the web will
help the Design Council grow further its vital role in the
business of design. We are delighted to be their chosen
partner.'
