Making UK industry more competitive is a Design Council ambition.
So we're delighted that, as our latest research shows, British
management now appreciates the hard edge that design can bring
to business strategy. In the past year, we have introduced several
practical initiatives to encourage more people to use design.
This includes Design in Business Week, Millennium Products and
a number of high profile partnerships with key opinion formers,
such as Management Today, CBI and British Quality Foundation.
All this strengthens our conviction that the Design Council's
programme of knowledge building and awareness raising is on the
right track. We are also cheered by the support for our strategy
that we have already received from the Government which has unambiguously
stated its faith in innovation.
