How we work
Astaire and Rogers, Rolls and Royce, Morecambe and Wise, Marks and Spencer are all successful partnerships which achieved much more by working together than they could alone.
The Design Council and our partners do just the same. We work with a whole range of local and national business organisations, government departments and agencies and educational organisations.
- Partnerships help us to be customer focused and to identify
and understand the needs of different constituencies. We can
then jointly develop programmes of activity and practical tools
in order to achieve shared objectives.
- Partnerships allow us to reach a far wider audience with our
message and our tools.
- Our research activity is part of a dialogue with our partners
so that they can take advantage of world leading design knowledge
when they plan the future of their organisations.
- Many of the events in Design in Education Week and Design
in Business Week each year are planned and run jointly with
our partners in those sectors.
Each of our partnerships works differently, with a variety
of shared objectives. But all of them include one purpose: to
help our partners and those they work with use design as a strategic
planning, business and organisational tool, so increasing prosperity
and well-being.
