What services does the Design Council offer?

Question 1 of 20

The Design Council helps UK firms make better use of design to improve their competitiveness. We also help the public sector spend money more effectively.

We do not provide direct design advice or services to companies. Instead this information is provided in England by the Business Link network which is funded by the UK government Department of Trade and Industry. Business Links provide a wide variety of services for small and medium sized businesses on finance, business start-up, marketing, grants and support, exporting, technology, innovation and design. Business Links have a dedicated Design Counsellor to give specialist advice about improving competitiveness through design.

The Design Council supports Business Links through a network of Design Links - volunteer groups of design and business experts who provide local knowledge, advice and resources for Design Counsellors working in Business Links.

Design advice in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales is funded through the Scottish Office, Northern Ireland Office and the Welsh Office.
