| The
Council of Industrial Design's (CoID) first exhibition 'Britain Can
Make It' held at the Victoria & Albert Museum. Heralding a new era
of post-war social and industrial renewal, 1.5 million visitors saw
the products of 1,300 firms. All 5,000 exhibits were specially selected
by Council of Industrial Design committees to stimulate interest and
awareness of design in both the public and British manufacturers.
CoID film starring Joyce Grenfell advocated good design in household
furniture such as tables and wardrobes. |
