Resources and Planning

The Resources and Planning Team works to ensure that there is a flexible and attractive working environment for their colleagues and visitors to the Design Council, and that all support services are efficient. The team is responsible for finance, personnel and IT management, and the grant programme for UK design projects under the Special Design Project Funding scheme.

Facilities Manager - Tony Bale tonyb@designcouncil.org.uk Tony is responsible for all facilities associated with the smooth and efficient running of the office - so that everyone else can get on with the really important work! Catering Manager - Sarah Barrett Sarah is responsible for the management of the staff café at the Design Council, and also catering for internal and external events from breakfast meetings to themed dinners. Team Coordinator - Helen Burrows helenb@designcouncil.org.uk Helen is responsible for coordinating the resources and planning team including meetings, visits and diaries. She organises the UK Liaison Group, Professional Bodies Advisory Group and Audit Committee meetings. Information Systems Manager - Emma Creasey emmac@designcouncil.org.uk Emma is responsible for the management of information systems services within the Design Council. Over the next twelve months Emma will be managing a full review of IS strategy and an implementation of enhanced technology capabilities ranging from faster workstations, remote access and improved tools for knowledge management. Assistant Finance Manager - Terry Eytle terrye@designcouncil.org.uk Responsible for collating and presenting financial information, including providing daily and monthly financial reports on various projects to all teams. Information Assistant - Mala Gondalia malag@designcouncil.org.uk Mala is responsible for developing and maintaining sections of the Design Council's website, and also handling incoming enquiries. Her work involves the effective communication of information about the Design Council, problem solving, and providing a referral service to other relevant organisations. Information Assistant - Sophie Lechner sophiel@designcouncil.org.uk Sophie is responsible for providing a wide range of information to the wider Design Council audience. She works alongside her two Colleagues Mala and Katie in handling incoming enquiries and communicating the role of the organisation. Chief Executive's Assistant - Penny Power pennyu@designcouncil.org.uk Penny is responsible for providing a full support service to the Chief Executive, researching and preparing briefings for him and liaising with the Chairman's office and Council members. Finance Manager - Sokquin Preece sokquinp@designcouncil.org.uk Responsible for ensuring efficient production of management and financial reports, and adherement to the financial control procedure. Information Systems Support - Mahmoon Siddiq mahmoons@designcouncil.org.uk Mahmoon works alongside Emma, carrying out routine IT administration and providing hardware and software user support for the entire Design Council’s network of PC’s and laptops. Facilities Coordinator - Tony Szalai tonys@designcouncil.org.uk Tony works alongside the other Tony to ensure that the Design Council team all have what they need to do their jobs (be it stationery, laptop computers, a telephone system or a stamp for that all important late letter) and also looks after our working environment. Information Assistant - Katie Williams katiew@designcouncil.org.uk Katie is responsible for providing a central source for all kinds of information relating to the Design Council. Her responsibilites also include responding to general design related enquiries.
